Bridewell Square at Kyrl’s Quay | Ireland
Revitalization of Kyrl’s Quay.
-
This master plan developed for the regeneration of the disused Kyrls Quay East and West has been integrated as one cohesive site and designed to be one of Cork’s most vibrant and inviting neighborhoods.
Major objectives include embracing the north channel by creating pedestrian plazas and walks that open to the river bank. The lower levels of the edifices along the plazas and walks encompass restaurants, cafes, retail, art galleries, a new, modern Garda Station and adaptive reuse of the old Bridewell station as a Garda Museum.
The plaza directs users to the most southern medieval pedestrian walk area from which residents access new apartment towers and underground car parking.
