30 Clifford is a nine-story residential mini-tower designed for a uniquely shaped site in downtown Detroit. Conceived by HTDSTUDIO, the project rises from the former footprint of a one-story bar and lounge that once stood at 30 Clifford Street—a low-slung, wedge-shaped neighborhood fixture that quietly served as a local gathering place.

The new building honors that legacy not only in spirit but in form. Taking on the distinctive wedge shape of the original structure, 30 Clifford preserves the site’s spatial memory while transforming it into a striking vertical expression of contemporary urban living.
